About COMEX and This Site’s Benchmark

COMEX is CME Group’s metals futures market. Its gold and silver contracts have their own contract months, sizes, settlement procedures, and delivery rules. An official COMEX price should therefore be identified by contract, timestamp, and price type.

Despite the COMEX label used in parts of the interface, this site’s comparison benchmark is the aggregated USD/oz spot value supplied by Metals.dev. It is not a specific COMEX futures settlement or an executable exchange quote.

Regional differences shown by this site compare normalized observations recorded at available timestamps. They do not isolate futures basis, physical delivery costs, demand, supply, or arbitrage profit.
